Rob Chaggares, CPA, CA, CFP

Partner

Rob graduated with Distinction from the University of Toronto’s Bachelor of Commerce program specializing in accounting and economics. Following his university studies, Rob began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, LLP. After obtaining the necessary experience, professional designation and licence to practice public accounting, Rob founded his own public accounting firm in 2005. With over 20 years of public accounting experience, Rob regularly advises his clients in almost all Canadian personal and corporate taxation and financial reporting and planning.

In addition to his CA designation, Rob is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a licenced Dealing Representative of an Exempt Market Dealer (Liahona Capital Inc. – NRD #47620). In this capacity, he provides his qualified clients with unique opportunities to invest in Private Capital Markets.

Rob and his family have always been very involved in the community in which they live and work. They volunteer their time and talents to support many different causes and programs that they are passionate about. Rob serves his community in many capacities, including being involved on several boards for non-profit organizations. Rob and his family live in East Gwillimbury.

Pierre Bonhomme, CPA, CA

Pierre graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences. He proceeded to obtain a Certificate of Accounting from the University of Ottawa. He began his accounting career with Ross, Pope & Company LLP in Timmins, Ontario and received his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. Pierre has extensive experience with profit-oriented companies, personal taxation, not-for-profit organizations, First Nations organizations and municipalities. He was admitted to partnership of the firm of C&B CPA in 2010 and regularly advised his clients on several corporate and personal matters. Pierre was appointed as a Commissioner for oaths and affidavits in 2012.

He is an active member of The Professional Referrals Organization and has served as Chair and Treasurer for various organizations. Pierre and his wife are actively involved in various volunteer roles at the Church they attend with their 2 children.

Duncan Peake, MBA, CPA, CA

Duncan graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts degree, then went on to earn an MBA from the University of Toronto, and obtained his CA designation in 2000. He has also completed Parts I and II of the In-depth Taxation Course provided by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also completed his US CPA designation in 2014 and is licensed in the State of Colorado.

Prior to joining C&B CPA in Newmarket, Duncan gained knowledge and experience working in KPMG’s tax and accounting groups for five years, working as a Controller for a subsidiary of Reader’s Digest for five years, and a mid-size accounting firm in Markham for five years.

He has been involved with assisting clients with their personal and corporate tax matters throughout his career. His areas of expertise include personal and corporate tax planning and compliance, assistance with government funding programs (including Scientific Research & Experimental Development claims), and a number of other personal and corporate tax matters.

Duncan was born and raised in Richmond Hill and provides assistance to low-income individuals with their personal taxes on a voluntary basis through the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a member of the Richmond Hill Chamber Golf Committee and is the Treasurer for the Richmond Hill Racquet Club.

Jayson Rutledge, CPA, CA

Jayson graduated from Queens University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Accounting. After completing the professional examinations he received his designation as a CPA, CA in 2017.

Jayson has worked in public accounting since 2013 with a focus on assurance and compliance engagements. Having worked with clients for over 10 years he is able to provide advice regarding full cycle accounting processes & controls for a wide variety of industries.

In addition to his work as an accountant Jayson has also been involved in a number of non-profit organizations and community initiatives. He is currently serving as the vice-chair of Hesperus Village, an elder living facility in Richmond Hill. A lifelong York Region resident Jayson now lives in the growing community of Georgina.
